Arriving At Your Destination

Acts 23:11 – – “And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.”

Do you have dreams so big that sometimes when you think about them they seem unrealistic but you are convinced in your heart that it is what you are called to do? Or you always wonder if it was really God that placed it in your heart because everything about that vision screams IMPOSSIBLE?

The bible says in Philippians 2:13 –“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and do of His good pleasures”.

This is how you will know it is God; it will not be about you. It will be about how God wants to put you in a position where He will flow through you to His people.

I want to encourage you today with the same encouragement I received from a part of the story of a man whom I admire so much in the bible – Brother Paul.

After so many warnings about Brother Paul’s visit to Jerusalem, he proceeded because he knew he just had to because it was in the will of God for him. He knew the mission was never about him or what he was going to go through in Jerusalem. He just knew and was convinced he had to be in Jerusalem.

Upon his arrival he met with the elders who gave him practical wisdom in form of an advice as to how he should conduct himself so as not to stir up trouble. All was going to plan till some Asians Jews saw him and all went south so fast.
All sorts of accusations were leveled against him but without any concrete proof but because there were a lot of them, the hands of the authorities were tied and at a stage they realized there was no way they could protect Brother Paul.
Brother Paul on the other hand stood firm on the mission, He kept on witnessing for Christ even though that was the main reason behind his circumstance.

God then appeared to him and told him as he has stood his ground and told his story of Him in Jerusalem that soon he would do the same in Rome. Noticed here that God told him the destination but did not say anything about the in-between, he just wanted him to know that he would arrive in Rome and tell his story of Him.

The following morning a group of 40 men took an oath neither to eat nor drink anything till they saw that Paul was dead and they even got consent from the priest but all these did not bother Brother Paul because he knew where he was going and God had told him he would get there.
As if that was not enough, he was left in prison for over 2 years without actually committing any crime, and then the authorities finally set to transfer him to Rome.

A storm rose which lasted 2 weeks (non-stop) and they lost everything on the ship but Paul assured everyone that no one was going to die just because God had told him and reminded him that he would get to Rome to share his story of Him. After so much travails, Acts 28:14 recorded they arrived in Rome.

I want to let you know today that it does not matter how impossible the destination may look, or how fearsome the storm on the journey may seem, or how difficult the task to be undertaken to get to the destination may seem, You will arrive THERE simply because God has told you so. He may not always reveals everything to you but one thing is certain He is working on your behalf to get you to that destination because He has more interest in you getting there than you have of yourself in getting to your destination. He is working out all this to conform to His will (Ephesians 1:11) and His will for you is to arrive at your destination.

No matter how big the dream is, just keep following His instructions, it may seem slow or sometimes static but know you are getting closer every day and nothing or no one can stop His plans from coming to pass in your life, once you yielded all to Him.
I leave this final note with you –“…Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might”- Ephesians 6:10.

Does God Really Exist? Part 2

Does God Really Exist? This is a question that must be answered individually. Not because someone shoved it in you that He exists or does not exist. It is a question you have to answer for yourself based on what you have experienced.

What you are ignorant of, you will always ignore. It is interesting to know that what you bring to your consciousness, you will see more of.  Let’s look at this from a more practical perspective that everyone can relate to.

I remember when I was about to buy my first car. From the day I decided to buy a Toyota Yaris, I started noticing Toyota Yaris on the road. I never knew so many people drove Toyota Yaris. It almost felt like for every 10 cars, there’s a Yaris. My decision to buy a Toyota Yaris didn’t suddenly increase the number of Yaris on the road. It always has been like that, I only started noticing Toyota Yaris because it got registered in my consciousness. I became aware of Yaris. Whatever you pay attention to, you will see more of..(Even regarding our subject..).

Now, back to the question on ground. It has always been about choice. Whether or not you will believe God has always being a choice. The way everything has been designed has been to give man a free will to choose for himself, what he thinks is best based on his own conclusions.

You have to choose what your answer is going to be. The only way you will be able to convincingly answer that question when asked is to first ask and answer the question yourself. It is not going to be because your parents told you or because your pastor said so or because you watched a YouTube video or because a friend you trust told you but you have to know for yourself and have experienced it to be true.

You will need a deep level of conviction to answer this question. Think! Consult your mind and spirit, therein lies the answer you seek. You know the truth deep inside, you don’t need any other external source to tell you or convince you. If you can be still in your mind, you spirit will tell you the truth.

We have a spirit within us, it knows  the truth – we call it our intuition sometimes. It is there not to impose on our will but to tell us things but we still have the choice of directing our will.

Whatever conclusion you arrive at, the more evidence you will find. All anyone can really do is what Moses did in Deuteronomy 30:19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!”.

The choice is before you today – decide and CHOOSE, not out of fear or coercion but of your own volition. I will however urge you to choose to believe God exist.

Hebrews 11:6b “….Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”.

Does God Really Exist?

I recently found myself in a conversation, while it was not really about whether God existed or not. I came to a realization days later about people’s perception of the Christian faith. I choose not to use the word ‘religion’ because it, on its own carries a meaning many don’t want to hear or even associate with. I came to realize that folks have this notion that asking questions is a forbidden thing. It’s like when too many questions are asked, a giant lie or huge web of lies kept for so long will be uncovered and will destroy so many people’s faith. Of course, you would not want to be the cause of that, so it’s better to keep quiet and simply follow.

We have made questions about God a touchy subject, so much that we’re afraid of asking questions about Him – somewhere deep down someone is thinking, if I ask too many questions I might just find out that God doesn’t really exist.

The biggest lies ever told by the devil began that way. This blog is not about proving or disproving whether or not God exists, rather it is about leaving you with two choices: Believe He exists or Don’t Believe.

Asking questions improves learning. It increases your knowledge about something or someone. The more you know about something or someone, the more you can understand it or them. If you can understand it or them, then you can make an informed decision about it or them.

The problem we face is many people don’t really know much. They also have been afraid to ask questions and have lived their lives based on assumptions. When they are finally challenged on their assumed knowledge, they get very defensive but it really is because they really don’t know much and if the arguments continues, the other party might just win, which will be against what they know and have been taught all their lives.

Asking questions about God is really OK. If you are asking questions about God, don’t feel like an outsider. God likes it when you ask questions. He wants you to know more about Him than you want to. There are some questions that will never be answered by just reading the bible front to back but when you ask, God will answer (not audibly, maybe through a conversation with someone or even through meaningless arguments or discussions that you may or may not even be involved in – but answers do come), then the bible will make more sense about that thing. Asking questions about God means you want to know more about God, so you can make a better decision yourself about Him.

A lot of folks have deceived themselves into believing that God exists without being fully convinced and persuaded that He really does. This is why they fall into so many things or do some things that makes us question God even more.

Fact Vs Truth

Up until recently I had always assumed that if there is a fact behind a thing, then it is most likely true. This is the case in almost every situation, if every fact points to something the deduction is almost always true. For example, it is winter or the cold season (depending on where you are) and you start coughing, feeling feverish, having sore throat, body aches, and feeling tired. Now those are facts about how you are feeling at the moment. Putting all the facts together, we can safely say you are coming down with a flu. We based this deduction on the fact that it is flu season (winter) and you are exhibiting symptoms of flu.

Recently God has been leading me to re-examine this mindset about my definition of fact and truth. When it comes to dealing with God or walking with God, the fact does not always mean the truth. You learn after a while to shun the facts and focus on a truth.

Jesus speaking about the Word of God in John 17:17 says “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth”. A truth is almost always spoken; it may not agree with the fact but the truth is the truth. I followed people’s trials on TV or news, being in situations myself where the fact tends to something but the truth is something else entirely – till I opened my mouth and spoke, everyone acted under their deductions from the facts. The WORD of GOD is TRUTH – what does that really mean?

We have to establish some things here – just to know that we’re on the same page, and if it is your first time of hearing or considering this, then please continue reading:

• God is Divine, All Powerful and Reigns Supreme over all
• He is the creator of heaven and earth
• He is the Lord and God over all

Now that we have gotten that out of the way, when the bible says the Word of God is truth, it simply means even against physical facts, if God says something about something, then that is the truth about that thing – because He is and reigns Supreme. It is like when a Ph.D. holder in a Mathematics and also a Nobel prize winner in same field tells a 2-year-old that 1 + 1 (one plus one) is 2 (two) and the child rejects it but instead explains it away. Not sure if that was a good example but I hope you get the point. A person with authority on something says something and a child with no authority whatsoever says its otherwise based on some facts. It is like a president of a country granting immunity to a prisoner and the prison warden refusing to let the person out – Just doesn’t make sense.

Same way in our lives we are often faced with situations and circumstance that threatens us, situations that looks impossible and all the facts agrees with the doom and gloom future deduced but what does the Word of God say about that situation. We have talked about how the facts aren’t always an indication of the truth, the truth has to be spoken to nullify the effect of the facts. If you find yourself in an impossible situation with seemingly no way out – check what God says about the situation if God says it is possible, then it is, if God says there’s a way out then there’s a way out but of course all that is dependent on the three bullet points and very importantly your own definition of truth.

Your truth will always be your reality. If you accept the deduced fact as your truth, then it will be your reality but if you believe in the Word of God has your truth, it will become your reality, it is only a matter of time.

Joseph was accused of attempted rape of Potiphar’s wife but that was not the truth. Yes, he was alone in the room with her and no one was in the house to alibi Joseph. Yes, his clothes were found with her – torn as if in struggle. Yes, he ran out as if he panicked. Potiphar’s wife would naturally have no reason to lie against Joseph, no one would expect a wife of such calibre and position to be seducing a mere slave. All the facts were against Joseph and he even went to jail for it but that was not Joseph’s truth. His truth had been revealed to Him long before – that he was to lead and everyone else bowed down to him. Being in prison at that moment did not change his truth. In fact, he was the happiest person in the prison. This was recorded about Joseph in Psalms 105

“17and he sent a man before them—

Joseph, sold as a slave.

18They bruised his feet with shackles,

his neck was put in irons,

19till what he foretold came to pass,

till the word of the Lord proved him true.”

His truth eventually became his reality.

It all boils down to Isaiah 53:1 – Whose report (truth) will you believe?

You bank account with the negatives or the Word of God in 2 Corinthians 9:8?

When you get the medical diagnosis of the incurable condition or 1 Peter 2:24?

When your school result comes in and you failed or Deuteronomy 28:13?

 

You CHOOSE

Can God trust you with His resources?

I have seen people who are always frustrated because they desire to be hugely blessed but God doesn’t seem to be doing anything about it.
A lot of factors might be the reason but the problem is never with God. God desires to bless us more than we want to be blessed. The bible says that He delights in the prosperity of His servants (Psalm 35:27). In fact God is looking for people to bless, because that’s the only way He can express Himself. He desires for people to know Him and His goodness through His children. That’s why the bible says He spreads the aroma His knowledge through us everywhere we go.(2 Corinthians 2:14)

Certainly, He doesn’t want us to go about poor, because all what people will see is poverty, constant lack and never enough, that is definitely not the knowledge God wants to pass around about Himself and His majestic nature. So what’s wrong? What is the missing link? Why are God’s children lacking God’s riches though God desires otherwise and tons of promises from the bible are about them?
The answer has been encoded in everything said so far, some would have gotten but if you haven’t read on.
The reason is God is all about love and goodness and He desires to show His creation these things. God wants to express Himself through people (His children) to people.

The anchor word being “express” or “expression”. The bible says God gives seed to the sower. This has a profound truth wrapped in it. For you to have seeds, you must be a sower. God will give you seeds when He knows you are going to sow it. When He trusts you to sow, He’ll keep giving you seeds.
The thing with seed is when you sow/plant a seed, it grows and yields harvest. When you plant a seed, the seed has in itself the ability to produce plenty more seeds. You won’t be reaping thing you sowed but an abundance of the seeds. From one seed, you will reap enough to feed yourself, plant more seed, feed others around you and keep what’s left for next sowing season.
All that came from sowing a seed, obviously it is multiplied when you sow more.
God wants to bless His children but He ultimately desires for them to be a blessing when they are blessed.
Only the heart He trusts to fulfill His desires will enjoy these great blessings. A heart that is willing to express God’s goodness and love to His people.
When God knows that He can trust you to give His people money when they desperately need no matter who they are. When He knows He can lead you to bless someone without hesitation, then He’ll always give you seed to sow.
It doesn’t have anything to do with what’s in your bank account. Are you willing to give that which is in your hand at the moment when you see someone who’s in need of it desperately? Will you listen to God when He leads to give whatever He asks you even though it’s your last? Will you give yourself in service even when there isn’t money or money is not involved?
Sometimes God just wants you to chat that person up, it might just be a hug the person needs, maybe a shoulder to cry on, or just a friend to talk to.
God will enrich you when He knows you will express Him. It doesn’t only work with money but I’ll focus on money.
God doesn’t not focus on the outward appearance or the words we constantly blab out. He is not moved by emotions either.
Your heart is what is examined, the position its in. Is it a heart of a giver/sower or of a receiver?
Mind you both will receive blessings, because there’s an expectation involved and the bible says the expectation of the righteous will not be cut off and also if there’s no expectation or the expectation is only from men, then such will receive nothing from God because nothing is what they expect from God.

The heart of a receiver will receive enough to satisfy Himself but that is way below God’s best because if you only believe for you then you’ll still be in lack, you will never have enough to satisfy you because selfish desires will set in and human nature have insatiable needs, nothing you have will ever be enough.

The heart God desires and wants is the heart of a sower, the heart of a giver. A mind that giving is its first nature, because that’s how God is.
A heart that puts others always before his, not because he doesn’t have needs but because He knows the heart and desires of God and knows that above all he is blessed to express God to His people (those around him). That’s why God will provide so much that it will satisfy you and you will excess to express God to others. 2 Corinthians 9:8
When God knows He can trust you, you will have.
When there’s a project in church, sow into it, even if you don’t have, a giver’s heart will desire to sow into it, and when the blessings comes fulfill the vow. When a person is in need of money, give, you know he needs it more than you even if it is your last cash. God will never leave you to lack (Psalm 23:1, 84:11). Every promise of material wealth comes after a command of giving or an act of giving.
No matter how little you have, you can always give. You will see how the little will grow into plenty and excess.
Give to church, men of God, fellow brethren in Christian faith and to unbelievers as you are led.
God is always on the lookout for a heart that gives because it is an excuse for to shower His blessing.
He can’t just shower it on anyone because He is a God of principle and He has said give and it shall be given, good measures, press down, shaken together and running over shall men given unto you.
He cannot violate that.

Not By Bread Alone

One of the famous chapters of the bible is Matthew chapter four. It narrates the temptation of Jesus by the devil. The devil came to Jesus with all sort of strategies but one thing that was constant was the Word chosen as a counter measure against every strategy the devil came up with. The word has always been the weapon to counter the devil anytime, any day because it is the Word of God and the devil has to obey the Word of God too, don’t be trapped in the web of thought that the devil so powerful, he was an angel once and every angel must harken to the Word of God (Psalm 103:20). He’s been stripped off his “angelhood”, he is just a deceiving spirit now, trying to get people to be scared of him, well that’s all he has left now and that is why you should not be afraid of him, rather overcome him by the Word. “so mightily grew the word and it prevailed(Acts 19:20)” (I’ve digressed a little, let go back to my main point)

When reading the bible, it easier to read through the obvious stories and think “Oh! That’s pretty cool. Jesus is one powerful, amazing god-man”. The truth behind every story comes by revelation through the Holy Spirit. They are often the portions you cannot read, they are there but you cannot see them. One of these truths as revealed I’m about to share with you.

Jesus’ first response to the temptations got interesting to me as the truth behind it was revealed and I’m sure it will bless you. Jesus told the devil “…man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matt 4:4). Before you think that’s a cool response for the devil, ask yourself what does it really mean?

Jesus quoted from Deuteronomy 8:3, he had a good understanding of this scripture that was why he was able to take advantage of the power it contained in putting his flesh under. This was a man coming out of a forty day fast. I’m sure he was starving big time, think of yourself coming out 40 days without food and you have the power to literally turn anything to food. But he put that appetite under because he would be doing it for the wrong reasons, but instead quoted Deuteronomy 8:3.

Man is a trilateral being. Man is a spirit, has a soul and lives in a body. That is a whole teaching on its own but I will not digress too much. Man is a spirit-being because God is a spirit and we were created in the image and likeness of God (John 4:24, Genesis 1:26-27). We have a soul, which is in charge of our thoughts, feelings, emotion, and reasoning, and we have a body, which many considers the real man. The body of a man, made by God from the dust of the earth is just like a suit he has to wear to be functional on this earth. The body needs to be taken good care of and fed. The body is not the real man; the body is alive as long as the spirit and soul are inside it. The real man is his spirit that is within him. That is why man continues to live after he dies. Death is man leaving the body and continues existence in the spiritual realm. Your spirit is exactly like your body. If you still doubt life after death, well I will tell you this: it is real. Heaven and hell are real too, so is God. I can begin to prove it from the scriptures but this is not the purpose of this post.

Many continue to focus too much on the body, they feed it constantly (some even overfeed it), some hit the gym to keep it fit and look good, some have series of surgeries to look forever young (we all know that’s never going to happen) amongst all other things we do for our body. While some of these have their own advantages (1Timothy 4:8), our main focus should be on our spirit, which is the real man.

If many were to be shown how their spirit-man looks like, they would be appalled and that is the part of them that will live forever, which makes it the most important part of man, deserving of utmost attention and care. Your spirit needs to be fed, exercised, and generally taken care of too, even more than your body. Jesus was establishing this point when he made that statement. He was saying that man is not just his body alone but there is the part of a man that is more important. Sure, the body should be fed but the desire to feed the body should not overcome what’s most important, the spirit. So how do you feed and exercise your spirit? (Keep reading)

Physical food satisfies the body but not the spirit. The spirit needs to be fed with something of the spirit. Consider what Jesus said in these scriptures:

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63

“For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” John 12:49

“Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” John 14:10

“Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.” John 7:16

Jesus made us realize a fact here that the words he speaks are not his but his Father’s and they are spirit and life-giving. Jeremiah said “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.” (Jeremiah 15:16). This makes the word of God a spiritual food, no wonder Jesus completed his response by saying “…but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God”. This means that this other part of a man can only be fed and live by the word of God.

You are not truly living till you are filled by the word of God because the real you depends on it to live. Jesus could do all he did because he knew and operated on this truth. So can you.
Storms of life, circumstances and situations always comes to test what you are made of and victory is guaranteed when your content is 100 percent word of God, being rooted and grounded in it.

Limiting God

Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. (Psalm 78:41 KJV)

I was in a meeting not so long ago when someone asked the group about this scripture and I felt the knowledge behind this scripture is worth sharing.

We have been brought up knowing God is all powerful, and reigns supreme over all. He can do whatever He wants and however He wants to and no man has a say in whatever God has planned to do. This is true, however not the whole truth. Hey, I know this probably rocks your theological orientation but don’t switch off just yet, give me a little time to explain this, I promise you it is not heresy.

God is a spirit (John 4:24) and He dwells in the spirit realm. We are spirit-being too because we are created in the image of God (a dog only gives birth to a dog, not a cow) (Genesis 1:26-27). He made and gave us a physical body made from the dust of the earth (Genesis 2:7), this functions as the suit a man will use to operate on this earth because if we could operate as a spirit on earth, then we would not need the body made from the dust of the earth. Think about it, when man goes to the moon, he wears a suit that was designed to make him survive on the moon because his natural body was designed to function on earth. Same thing here, God wanted man to operate on the earth so He made and gave him a suit designed to make him function on this earth – the physical body. He also gave him dominion over all things He has created on the earth (Genesis 1:26-27, Psalm 115:16).

With all that has been said above, it suffice it to say any spirit (spiritual being) needs a physical body to operate on this earth, even the devil and his cohorts. God, who is a spirit, lives in the spirit world and in order for Him to operate on this earth, He also needs a physical body (a man) that will carry it out because He made the world operate that way and He would not violate His own words and standards (Psalm 89:34). He also gave man a will, which is the most powerful asset and weapon of a man (in my opinion), and also the power to make decisions (Deuteronomy 30:19). God being a God of standards and principles will never violate that nor will He super-impose His will on man. He always sets the options before us and we get to chose.

As a spirit, God is all powerful, all capable and can do whatever He wants and however He wants to, He is also capable of all that even in the physical world but He has put a system in this world that He won’t violate and that is – only man is licensed to operate on this earth. —- this is true even for the devil, he needs a man to carry out his will on earth too.

For God to carry out His will here on earth, He needs a man that will corporate and yield to Him and it is to the degree to which this man yields that God is able to operate, same is true for the devil.

Spirits grow in power when they are believed, the more believe we have in them, the more powerfully they operate. When God is in a place (which He always is), all of His power is there with Him to do whatever we ask but as a spirit He needs to be believed in and acknowledged to be able to move and operate (Matthew 13:58). Where ever there is an existence of unbelief, God is limited. He can only operate to the level at which your belief is at. If you see God doing something a man’s life, this is because this man can dare believe Him to do it. Jesus himself said nothing is impossible to him that believes (Mark 9:23).

God told Abraham that as far as He could see would he posses, and that has always being the system in which God operates, everything is possible with Him because He is all powerful (Luke 1:37) but it is to the extent to which each individual can believe. You can have whatever you can believe God for but He will not make it automatically happen for you.

Our main scripture says they limited God because of their unbelief, another translation says they grieved Him. This is to say they made Him very sad because of their constant unbelief, in other words, God rejoices when we believe Him. He is happy when we trust Him to do anything, the more impossible or improbable it seems, the happier God is.

The onus is on us to always increase our capacity to receive from God. He is all powerful and can do all things but only to those that can dare to believe Him to do it, having yielded themselves to Him completely as He will not violate His set standards.

Incorruptible Seed (Two)

The word of God is a seed. It grows and produces anywhere it is planted. Be it in health, finances, business, relationship, marriage, academics, matter of fact it will grow anywhere you dared to plant it. Every single word of God contains in it the power/ability to carry out its mission.

You might have often heard the phrase “All you need is a word from God” and often wonder the practicality and applicability of it to what you are going through. Maybe you are ill/sick or have an incurable disease, probably you just lost your job or your business just folded up, maybe your marriage or relationship is falling apart and you’re losing your mind (or maybe it has collapsed already), maybe you are just starting out in life and you don’t even know where to start or what to do and someone walks up to you and tells you “All you need is a word from God”.

Paul wrote “Now I commit you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified” (Acts 20:32). No matter what situation is, know that the first person you need is God and the first thing you need is God’s word.

God began creation in Genesis by speaking out His words and all things were created and are held together (John 1:1-4, Colossians 1:17). Every physical thing you see  was created by His word, even the inventions we have now have their roots from the things created by His word which makes everything you see in this physical world subject to His word and if they are, a word from Him can change anything, turn around any situation. That may be a bit too much to believe or comprehend but it is the truth and I suggest you spend some time to think about it.

After accepting this truth, all you need to do is to sit down with the word and get as much seed that pertains to your need and start planting in your heart, water it by meditating (deeply thinking) on it every time, it will germinate and produce for you in the area of your need 100% of the time. There is a word for every situation or circumstance you may find yourself, you just have to be ready to spend enough time in the word. The seed is Incorruptible and produces harvest every single time it is planted.

Incorruptible Seed (Part 1)

1 Peter 1:23 “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

In Agriculture, before there can be a harvest, there must first be the sowing a seeds (planting). Every harvest begins with the sowing of the seed and the size of the harvest depends on the strength of the seed. If the seed is good, there is a bounty harvest but if it is bad, there would be a harvest but not as much. There are some seeds that are favorable to plant in some geographic regions but not in others, because they thrive under that particular weather.

The bible says the Word of God is an incorruptible seed. Every single word of God contains in itself the ability to carry out that which it has been sent to do. Just like the physical seed, the Word of God if planted firmly in our hearts guarantees a harvest. What now determines the size of the harvest is the ground to which it was planted.
In Mark 4:3-8, Jesus taught the parable of a sower who went out to sow, these seeds (which we now know is the Word of God) were sown. They fell on different ground which then in turn produced different results according to the ground to which it fell. Notice that the it was never mentioned that the seed was bad or did not produce, this is because every seed sown has the same capacity and ability to produce, what determined the harvest or result here was the ground to which it fell on (which is our hearts). Some fell on the road side, it was picked by birds (hearts that do not care about the Word of God would not receive). Another on the rock, even with that it still started budding (to show the ability it possesses) but because it did not the rock would not let its root in (a hardened heart), it dried up. Another seed fell amongst thorns, it began sprouting but because the condition was not favorable as there were many dangerous things co-existing with it, it was choked to death (a heart full of cares, worries, anxiety, fear, doubts etc). The last one fell on the good soil and produced but even at that, the production was still in sizes. This tells us that it is not automatic to get a hundred percent harvest even if your heart is a good ground, you still determine how much you want. It is still to the extent to which you can believe for.

When it comes to receiving from God, it is not the Word that is not powerful – the seed is Incorruptible but it is the heart that needs to be worked on.

Hebrews 4:2 “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.”
